Hello Out and Abouters,
We set up Out and About to connect the community through shared experiences. Out and About both create and curate experiences across the UK and we need your help!
Out and About are now starting to put third party events providers on our web site platform. We are offering free promotion over the next 3 months (until end of September 2021) to support soem great quality LGBTQIA events providers that are out there.
But we need some help to do this. So are on the look out for Regional Leads. These are volunteer roles and Out and About will support by offering benefits. These will include free annual membership (which we are launching in July), discount off trips and free support.
We are looking for Regional Leads who can run the monthly meet ups we plan to roll out (supported by some fab brand partners) and also find out about other local LGBTQIA focused event providers who can promote to our ever growing membership.
Our new platform does most of the work for you, For example it can pull together a list of all attendees. We can also give you admin rights to our Facebook page, so you can create events on here and keep in touch with participants.
Volunteering should take up no more than a few hours a month.
In terms of what we are looking for? Well, an interest in meeting people helps. If you have past experience of organising events then that is great too, but not essential. We welcome anyone who is from the LGBTQIA community or is a supportive ally.
You only need to be available to turn up to the monthly events Out and About host. And you can share that role with another if you can’t do every event.
We will not ask you to get involved with organising third party events, just putting them in touch with us, and hleping promote locally is great. But in the future we will look to provide free training to those who want to do more.
Key areas we are looking for Regional Leads are: Brighton, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff, Reading/Berks, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Yorkshire area, Newcastle/North East, Cornwall/Devon, Hastings/Eastbourne. But let us know if you are keen to lead in other areas.
